The Press Programme for ESC Congress – the world’s largest cardiovascular event – is announced today.
Journalists from around the globe are invited to the Opening Press Conference on Thursday 25 August and 10 embargoed Hot Line Press Conferences during ESC Congress 2022. Attend in-person or online for the first glimpse of highly-anticipated results from major clinical trials in prevention, imaging, heart failure, coronary artery disease, acute cardiac care, and arrhythmias. Plus: the use of artificial intelligence in cardiovascular care and trials on treatment of patients with COVID-19.
Hot line studies will be presented in Barcelona and broadcast online. Tune in here.
In addition: press releases on novel scientific findings from the extensive abstract programme on topical issues including COVID-19 vaccination, illicit drug use, pollution, cannabis for pain relief, and sleep. And a tip sheet for journalists highlighting particular areas of interest.
Professor Carlos Aguiar, Chair of the ESC Communication Committee, said: “The ESC Congress Press Programme grants advance access to the cardiovascular science we have all been waiting for. This year we have 36 hot line presentations. Four ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines will be released including the first ever ESC recommendations on how to reduce the cardiac side effects of cancer treatment. Plus advice on preventing sudden cardiac death, cardiovascular management of patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery, and the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension. Also new are the patient versions of ESC guidelines on heart failure and prevention of cardiovascular disease.”
Professor Steen Kristensen, ESC Press Lead, said: “Join us in Barcelona or online at this year’s press conferences for your chance to quiz the investigators about their research. Watch out for embargoed press releases on a wide range of hot topics in cardiovascular science. A news story awaits you at ESC Congress 2022.”
Press releases will be available here when the embargo lifts. Only accredited journalists may access embargoed press conferences and other material.
