The ESC is a member of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) Healthcare Professionals’ Working Party (HCPWP), which provides a platform for the exchange of information and discussion of issues of common interest between the Agency and healthcare professionals.
Since 2010, the ESC has been a member of the European Network for Health Technology Assessment (EUnetHTA) Stakeholder Forum, contributing to the systematic health technology assessment review of evidence on clinical effectiveness and safety of wearable cardioverter-defibrillators.
Since 2010, ESC experts have engaged with EU policymakers working on a fundamental revision of the EU medical devices legislation through different EC experts groups, including the Medical Devices Coordination Group (MDCG).
The ESC is a member of the European Commission's expert group on digital health, the eHealth Stakeholder Group, contributing to the shaping of EU digital health policy and sharing the cardiology’s perspective in this area.
A joint initiative calling for a comprehensive EU plan to tackle the burden of CVD
The ESC is a founding partner of the European Alliance for Cardiovascular Health, a joint initiative of leading EU health organisations to raise awareness of the burden of cardiovascular disease and to call on EU policymakers to develop a comprehensive EU Cardiovascular Disease Plan to address the increasing burden of cardiovascular disease.
Cooperation in cardiovascular disease prevention and management
The ESC is a founding member of the European Chronic Disease Alliance (ECDA), a coalition of European health associations sharing the same interests in combating chronic diseases through European public health policies.
The ESC collaborates with the European Heart Network (EHN), a non -governmental alliance of heart foundations and associations dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke and supporting patients throughout Europe.
The ESC is a strategic partner of the World Heart Federation (WHF), the umbrella organisation for the global cardiovascular community, and an official partner of the World Health Organization (WHO).

ESC Is a founding member of the BioMed Alliance in Europe, which cooperates with other scientific and medical societies and organisations operating in other clinical areas.
