ESC Advocacy Committee

Purpose of the Committee

The mission of the Advocacy Committee is to demonstrate the human story behind the statistics of cardiovascular disease as the number 1 cause of death. From the environment to research, from employment to food, from gender inequalities to socioeconomic disadvantages, from youth to long-term care strategies, from agriculture to culture – cardiovascular health plays a role across many areas of society. This mission will raise public awareness and build support of policy-makers who have both health and non-health interests. To achieve this, the Advocacy Committee will ensure a consistent outreach to policy-makers, participation in EU institutional events, and active influencing of policy dossiers.
