Purpose of the Committee
The CPG Committee is the ESC governing body in charge of the ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines Programme and other applicable ESC documents. It supports the ESC mission by overseeing development, production, and publication of guideline documents aimed at guiding decisions on diagnosis, risk stratification, management, and treatment of cardiovascular disorders. The CPG Committee brings together international experts in task forces and review panels to create ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines according to established ESC policies and procedures. The ESC Board delegates to the CPG Committee the authority to approve content included in ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines and to publish them as such. The committee reports to the ESC Board.
