Heart failure is defined as a condition where the heart's function is diminished to the extent that it cannot meet the metabolic demands of the body's tissues.
Patients diagnosed with heart failure face an elevated risk of disabling symptoms and mortality due to various factors, including scar-related arrhythmias, dyssynchrony, and pump failure.
Combining device therapy with guideline-directed medical therapy has been shown to alleviate symptoms and reduce mortality in this patient population.
This issue of FOCUS was curated by Ronen Beeri, Jens Cosedis Nielsen, and Yitschak Biton to help expand knowledge of device therapy in heart failure.
