Late-Breaking Science submission types
The Call for Late-Breaking Science is open to the following categories:
- Late-Breaking Clinical Trial - Reserved for first presentations of the primary endpoint(s) of a new clinical trial.
- Clinical Trial Update - Reserved for presentations of new data or secondary analysis of a trial where the primary data have been presented previously.
- Registry, Cohort, Observational & Epidemiological Study – Reserved for presentations of data not previously presented from a new or existing registry, cohort, observational, or epidemiological study.
- Basic & Translational Late-Breaking Science - Reserved for late submissions of important findings in Basic and Translational Cardiovascular Science.

Hot Line Sessions
- 11 sessions will be held in Main Auditorium.
- These sessions will be reserved for first presentation of the primary endpoint(s) of novel clinical trials, recently completed and unpublished. Each will immediately be followed by a review from a renowned expert on the outcome presented
- Ask the Trialist - a unique opportunity to focus on your trial with direct interaction with the audience
- Extensive ESC TV coverage
- Embargoed Press Conferences: presentation and moderated discussion with international journalists
- All sessions will be streamed LIVE from Madrid for the online audience
Late-Breaking Science Sessions
- Topic-related sessions featuring the best trials, trial updates and registries, cohort, observational & epidemiological studies.
Basic & Translational Late-Breaking Science Session
- 1 session dedicated to highlighting the latest and “hottest” findings in basic and translational science
