Dear Members,
In the era of technology and scientific advances and among major challenges around the globe, we would like to highlight the importance of focusing on the patient when delivering the healthcare in all circumstances. As a WG on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases, we are very frequently involved in discussions about the challenges of chronic and ongoing care for cardiac diseases which can affect people of any age and may have short and long-term consequences and major impact on their lives. Sometimes, the entire mindset of the healthcare systems and the community need to evolve so that it recognizes the individual aspects of the cardiac problems of these patients. Our WG, together with other constituent bodies and committees of the ESC, will endeavour to highlight the unmet needs in the care of the patients with the Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases and to support the patients at all levels.
