Dear Members, Colleagues, and Friends,
As the new Chairperson of the ESC Working Group on Coronary Pathophysiology & Microcirculation, I am happy to share with you my vision and plans for the 2024-2026 term. My focus will centre on fostering scientific collaboration, promoting education, advocating for gender equality, supporting patient advocacy, and empowering our younger members to help shape the future of cardiovascular medicine.
Our Working Group has a rich tradition of collaboration between clinicians and basic scientists, as reflected in the balanced composition of our Nucleus. With this strong foundation, I believe our Working Group is well-positioned to embrace the innovations that knowledge brings, and we should be ready to integrate these changes. Building on the excellent work of my predecessors, we will continue to adopt a holistic approach, improving our understanding of coronary pathophysiology and enhancing the management of coronary disease through invasive interventions, medical therapy, and lifestyle modifications.
I am fortunate to have a dedicated nucleus team supporting me in achieving these goals. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the ESC Working Group on Coronary Pathophysiology & Microcirculation nucleus, whose contributions are vital to the success of our projects. As they say, success is best when shared!
Follow our progress by joining our community and actively engaging in our activities, and don't forget to register and participate in our online Working Group Talks.
Additionally, I encourage you to apply for the Mobility Travel Grant, an excellent opportunity to foster excellence and innovation through networking and collaboration with different research institutions across Europe and stay tuned for many more exciting projects to come!
I look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas as we move forward together.
Thank you for being the heart of our community!
Edina Cenko
