Report on the ‘All About Clinical Trials’ Course, December 2024, Oslo
An "All About Clinical Trials" course was held at Diakonhjemmet Hospital, Oslo, on 12-13 December 2024. This event was organised in collaboration with the European Society of Cardiology Cardiovascular Pharmacology (ESC-CVP) Working Group, the Association of Cardiovascular Nursing & Allied Professions (ACNAP), the Norwegian Cardiac Society, and the REMEDY Center at Diakonhjemmet Hospital.
There were 58 registered participants who came from 9 countries, on average 40 years old, and mostly (65%) practicing health professionals. For the first time, 35% were allied health workers such as study nurses, physiotherapists, etc.
The AACT course maintains a high professional standard with both national and international speakers and is suitable for anyone interested in research, including students, PhD candidates, clinicians such as doctors and nurses.
The purpose of the course is to provide insights into all aspects of clinical trials: from design to implementation and evaluation of results. The course also highlights recently proposed methods for clinical testing and discusses regulatory requirements. Participants receive a GCP certificate meeting EU standards.
The 2024 AACT course was a great success and we hope you will consider attending in the future, as well as recommending the course to your emerging researchers.
