The interest of long-term spaceflight on cardiovascular health is increasing in face of the rapid development of human space. Factors related to long-duration spaceflight, such as microgravity seem to be related to vascular aging. In this study, a novel mechanotransducive mechanism invoving Piezo1-mediated miR-582-5p changes in the carotid artery is disclosed.
