The Global Voice of Cardiovascular Nurses and Allied Professionals

The ACNAP Advocacy Committee's vision is to create a united healthcare professional and patient voice to improve cardiovascular health, through education, advocacy and research.

Who are we?

The ACNAP Advocacy Committee works closely with the ACNAP Board to advocate for cardiovascular patients and healthcare professionals, by promoting research, innovation and practice through ACNAP and collaborative activities.

What is our main goal?

The purpose of the ACNAP Advocacy Committee is to speak up for cardiovascular patients and healthcare 
professionals, promoting patient-centred care, interdisciplinary working and shared decision making.

To achieve the above, the ACNAP Advocacy Committee aims to:

  • Raise awareness of the role of advocacy in improving CVD health
  • Build advocacy capacity and capability within ACNAP
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders both within and outside the ESC including patient and healthcare professional organisations
  • Empower nurses and allied professionals to actively advocate for their patients

What do we do?

The ACNAP Advocacy Committee leads or contributes to the following activities on a recurrent or 
ongoing basis. This list is not exhaustive:

  • Develops scientific statements on the topic of advocacy
  • Contributes to scientific sessions and/or workshops during ACNAP annual congress
  • Develops ACNAP webinars or informative tools
  • Raises the profile and importance of advocacy
