Candidate Eligibility
- To stand for all positions, candidates must be ACNAP members holding voting rights at the date of application i.e. must have been an ACNAP silver member for at least one month prior to application submission and still be a silver member at the time of application.
- To stand for Board positions, candidates must be originating from an ESC member country.
- Candidates for the position of President Elect must be a FESC, currently serving or have served in the immediate previous ACNAP Board or in the pre-previous Board as voting or appointed members. The elected candidate will automatically become President two years later.
- Candidates for the position of Secretary/Treasurer must have served on a previous or current ACNAP Board.
- An ACNAP Board member may not hold more than three leadership positions at the same time. Sitting on the nucleus of an ESC Working Group or Council or the Board of an Association as voting member is counted as one leadership position. A candidate who already holds three offices may therefore not stand for election or be proposed as a candidate, except if one of his/her term of office expires before the new functions start.
- Healthcare Industry employees are not eligible to be part of the ACNAP Board.
Additional criteria
- All members of the ACNAP Board & Nominating Committee must sign the ESC/ACNAP oath of office prior to taking their functions.
- Elected officers of ACNAP are expected to adhere to the ESC Declaration and Management of Conflict of Interest Policy.
- All ACNAP Volunteers must submit their annual Declaration of Interest in a timely manner.
ACNAP Nominating Committee 2022-2024
The ACNAP Nominating Committee is responsible for nominating candidates for the position of all elected members of the next ACNAP Board and for members of the next nominating committee.
The Nominating Committee strives for a geographical and gender balance of candidates, as well as inclusion of candidates from nursing and different allied professions.
