How to get to Belgrade

By train

There are direct daytime international services to Belgrade from Zagreb, Budapest and Ljubljana.

By plane

The "Nikola Tesla" airport in SurĨin is located 18 km from the centre of Belgrade and has an excellent air traffic connection via more than 35 international carriers.

By car

It is very easy to travel to Belgrade by car. The city is very well connected and is located at the intersection of the European E-70 and E-75 highways.

Foreign drivers in Serbia are required to have a national driver’s license, traffic permit and an insurance policy. Passenger vehicles with foreign license plates pay road tolls on the following highways: E-70 Subotica – Novi Sad, E-75 Novi Sad – Belgrade, E-70 Šid – Belgrade, E-75 Belgrade – Niš and E-75 Niš – Leskovac.

How to get to Belgrade city centre

Adequate private and public transfer options serve the Nikola Tesla Airport, providing passengers with a variety of choices in transfers. 

By bus

The cheapest and easiest way to travel from the airport to the city center. In just 30 minutes you will reach Slavija Square, one of the major city squares and the central traffic route where all types of public transport services meet.

This minibus goes every 20 minutes during the day, and every hour after 19:30 (7:30 PM), during the night as well. The ticket can be purchased on the bus and the price is 300 RSD (2.5 EUR).

Make sure you have local currency, Serbian dinars because other currencies are not accepted.

By taxi

Only authorized taxis should be used; it is recommended to check rates at the airport or order taxis from your hotel to avoid misunderstandings.

A counter for issuing vouchers indicating the fixed price  for taxi transport is located in the international arrivals area. Please collect your voucher before leaving the airport.

Most of the taxi drivers do not accept credit cards payment, be sure to have cash, ATM are available at the airport as well as foreign exchange counters.

 

Currency

The official tender in Serbia is dinar, abbreviated RSD. Money may be exchanged in all banks and post offices, as well as in authorized exchange offices.
